My grandmothers grandmother was full Cherokee, she ended up in Ky on the trail of tears & that's where my grandma (mother's mother) was born. I've always felt a part of my spirit is close to the traditions, beliefs and rituals of the natives and I've always felt somehow seprate in a way from the white man even though I am one. I remember running and playing with my native American friends as a child and feeling a spiritual presence when I was with them. My mother always told me that it is because blood is thicker than mud and it only takes a drop of red blood to make you have a bigger heart. Glad I found this..

Notice when naitves sing, it is like they are singing up to the heavens for our elders to hear <3 Nothing like being native, coming together with our drums, shawls and pride in our culture. Like the teaching goes, you sing from your gut, you bounce with your knees. You listen to your elders, respect them as you would children as well :) I miss elders teaching me, especially my teachers who passed on
